Idaho and Utah are pulling in companies faster than they are pulling in accountants

Tried to hire a staff accountant in Boise this spring. Three months, two offers declined over comp. Is anybody else just going fractional or outsourced because the local market is empty?

Posted a senior accountant role in Boise in October. 11 applicants, 2 qualified, both wanted remote-first. Market is tight and everyone pretends it is not.

150 unit requirement plus busy season hours plus starting pay under a software support rep. Shocking that the pipeline dried up.

Yeah that is the loop. We ended up outsourcing the transactional work and keeping one controller in house.
