Monthly close checklist — post yours

Ours: bank/credit card recs, AR aging review, AP cutoff, payroll accrual, deferred revenue roll, prepaid amortization, inventory tie-out, then a two-page flash report by the 10th. Took years to get to the 10th. What is on yours that is not on mine?

Bank + credit card recs, AR aging, AP aging, payroll accrual, prepaid schedule, inventory, then a 2 line variance note for anything over 10%. Day 8 close.

Day 8 is aspirational for us. We are a day 19 shop and I am at peace with it.

The variance note is the whole thing. A closed book nobody reads is just expensive filing.
