Sales tax nexus in four states, a 1099 pile, and an estimated payment I did not know existed. The accounting cost me less than the penalties would have. Post the thing you wish someone had told you in year one.

Nobody tells you that quarterly estimates exist until you owe them.

Yep, both of those hit us. Separate savings account for tax money has been the single best habit.

Add one to the list: if you had a baby this year, go open the Trump Account. Takes ten minutes and the seed money is sitting there.
